Michael Salenieks is a pragmatic and conscientious commercial real estate broker who enjoys tackling challenging and complex projects. He engages the market both analytically and creatively and takes a principled long view approach to relationships. Michael started his commercial real estate career in Toronto in 2016, spending five years at Lennard Commercial Real Estate, where he actively collaborated with several asset specific experts and senior leaders to grow his knowledge and best serve his clients. Prior to commercial real estate, Michael received his degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto and spent five years in construction sales and account management. Select commercial real estate experience includes:
- Negotiating a joint venture between a landowner and developer for a condominium project
- Representing the landlord of a 150,000 SF office building with ongoing leasing
- Selling a severed lot with an old hotel on site for conversion to apartments
- Negotiating lease renewals and facilitating relocations for numerous office, retail, and industrial tenants
Part of the joy of business for Michael is being an active participant in communities that drive change. He spent multiple years as a member of the Urban Land Institute and was a developing leader with the National Association of Office and Industrial Professionals. He also served on a board with the Center for Addiction and Mental Health, CAMH Engage, a committed group of young professionals with a mandate to raise funds and awareness for mental health. Locally, Michael has volunteered in the kitchen at the Elgin Street Mission and networked at the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.
